Kendrick Lamar was born and raised in Compton to Kenny Duckworth and Paula Oliver. He lived in the Section 8 housing and relied on government assistance to make it as his father was a KFC employee. Kendrick experienced many things a child shouldn't have to experience such as police brutality and murders. Although he wasn't given the greatest situation, Kendrick was able to excel in school and release his frustration in his lyrics.
