A song of Ice and Fire

A Song of Ice and Fire takes place in a fictional, medieval fanatasy world in where seasons can last weeks or years before transition. Majority of the series is set in Westeros, where there once was Seven Kingdoms ruling separately. Aegon Targaryen came and conqured them and ultimately united them under his rule as one kingdom with nine regions; North, the Iron Islands, the Riverlands, the Vale, the Westerlands, the Stormlands, the Reach, the Crownlands, and Dorne. His family ruled for almost 300 years but after a succesful rebellion led by Robert Baratheon, the Targaryen Dynasty came to an end with the last two memember fleeing to the lands beyond Westors. After the questionable death of King Robert Baratheon, the nine houses wage war amongst themselves over the right to claim of "The Iron Throne."
Meanwhile, in the Northern border of the North another conflict rises, when the once thought to be extinct race of beings called, The Others or White Walkers have remerged. They resemble humans but are white with pale eyes like ice, they have little weaknesses, and can resurrect the dead turn them into mindless soldiers. Their goal is to bring an eternal winter/darkness to all of Westeros. In addition to the conflict, to the East of Westeros, across the Narrow Sea on the continent of Essos, Daenerys Targaryen rises from exile to a Queen by gaining power and wealth with the help of her three dragons. Her mission is to return home to Westeros and reclaim The Iron Throne.
The power struggle, battles, and betrayals are told through the point of view of its many characters as they fight for not only the Iron throne but their survival.
